Face Reader (관상술사, the "Service"), operated by Kijun Shim (심기준, the "Operator"), establishes and publishes this privacy policy under Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea in order to protect users' personal information and handle related complaints promptly. This policy applies to the Face Reader iOS app and the website (face.petvers.co.kr).
This is a translation of the Korean policy. If the two differ, the Korean version prevails.

1. Personal information processed and purposes
The Service has no sign-up and does not collect names, contact details, or anything else that directly identifies you. It processes only the information needed to provide the analysis you request (Article 15(1)4 of the Personal Information Protection Act).
| Category | Items | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Photo analysis (face reading, palm reading, compatibility, celebrity look-alike, past life, future) | Face or hand photo; face proportion measurements (left-right symmetry, upper-to-lower face ratio, eye spacing ratio, face width/height, face shape, nose width ratio). These are numbers computed on your device and are not stored on the server. | Providing AI analysis results |
| On-device measurement (AI face measurement, profile photo coach, similarity index, face-shape styling, personal color) | Face photo. Facial landmark points, face proportion values, and cheek skin color are computed on your device only and are not sent to the Operator or any third party. | Showing measurement and recommendation results on your device |
| Saju analysis (saju, pregnancy saju) | Date of birth, birth time (optional), gender | Providing saju analysis results |
| Automatically generated information | Access logs (IP address, access time), device information (OS, model), app usage records, error records | Service operation, error analysis, preventing abuse |
| Advertising | Advertising identifier (on iOS, only if you allow App Tracking) | Serving ads and measuring ad performance |
| Notifications | Push notification token | Sending service notifications |
Face photos are not processed to identify a specific person and are not processed as biometric information. Facial landmark points and proportions are computed on your device only to show you results; they are not used to identify a specific person and are not stored.
The on-device measurement features (using Apple Vision) process photos on your device only. Facial landmark points, face proportion values, and cheek skin color are not sent to the Operator or any third party and are not stored; only the resulting numbers and recommendations are saved in "My Analyses" on your device.
Shared results (같이 보기) and image sharing never include your face photo or date of birth.
2. Retention and deletion
| Item | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Photos, face proportion measurements, date of birth, birth time, gender | Not stored on the server; deleted as soon as the analysis result is returned |
| Photos on your device | After a successful analysis, the photo is also deleted from your device right away. The original temporary file you picked or captured is deleted right after cropping. If an analysis fails, the photo is kept only so you can retry and is removed when the operating system cleans up temporary files. |
| Analysis history | Only results and measurement numbers are stored on your device; photos are not stored. Deleted when you delete them in "My Analyses" or delete the app |
| Shared results (같이 보기) | Only the result is stored, without the photo or the date of birth, birth time, and gender you entered; automatically deleted 7 days after creation |
| Access logs | 14 days |
| App usage records | Google Analytics retention setting (up to 14 months) |
| Error records | 90 days |
| Push notification token | Until the app is deleted or the token expires |
Information is destroyed without delay once its retention period has passed or its purpose has been achieved. Electronic files are deleted in a way that cannot be recovered.
3. Provision to third parties
The Service does not provide your personal information to third parties, except where the law specifically requires it.
4. Processing entrustment and overseas transfer
The Operator entrusts the processing of personal information as follows, and your information is transferred overseas in the process (Article 28-8 of the Personal Information Protection Act). Transfers are encrypted in transit over the network when you use the Service.
| Recipient (contact) | Country | Items transferred | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Google LLC — Gemini API (https://support.google.com/policies) | United States | Photo, face proportion measurements, date of birth, birth time, gender | AI analysis processing | Not retained by the Operator. Google does not use the data to improve its products (model training) and retains it only for a limited period to monitor abuse |
| Google LLC — Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging, Performance Monitoring, Remote Config, App Check, Cloud Firestore, etc.) | United States, etc. (Cloud Firestore: Republic of Korea) | Device information, app usage and error records, push token, shared results | Service analytics, error analysis, notifications, preventing abuse, sharing results | Retention periods in section 2 |
| Google LLC — AdMob·AdSense | United States | Advertising identifier, device information, IP address | Serving ads | According to Google's policies |
| Cloudflare, Inc. ([email protected]) | United States | Access logs (IP address, etc.) | Traffic delivery and security | After delivery processing, according to Cloudflare's policies |
If you do not want your information transferred overseas, you can refrain from using the corresponding analysis features or opt out of ad tracking. However, AI analysis cannot be provided without overseas processing.
